Response To COVID-19

Dear Partners and Supporters,

We hope that as you are reading this, you and your loved ones are safe and healthy.

In these last weeks, we have seen great suffering and we have seen great heroism.

All of us have felt the impacts of COVID-19 at home, in our places of work, our places of worship and in our communities. Northern Bridge has also felt the impacts of the pandemic.

In these last weeks, we have had to find new and creative ways of building bridges with our indigenous partners in the support of their well-being and mental health.

Air travel into the north is restricted and we have had to make the difficult decision to suspend our summer trips to Fond du Lac and Wollaston.

For now, we are working from home and continue to meet virtually.  We are in daily contact with many of our partners in the North.

This crisis will end.

When it does end, we will all be changed but our resolve to support some of the most vulnerable in our nation will not have. This crisis has only strengthened our commitment to our partner communities and we hope it will have strengthened yours too.

Please keep us in your prayers. Know that your continued financial support will allow us to continue to make an impact in supporting countless individuals.

With you, we promise to keep moving,

Forward Together,

Michael Bechard, Carol Lohuis, Jacqueline McKernan & Silvester Pushpanathan
