WE SEEK

An inspirational fundraising leader and role model, who can develop and implement strategy and be accountable for achieving fundraising targets, primarily at the major gift level.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Reporting to the Executive Director, you will:

  • Formulate and implement a strategy for prospect identification, evaluation and cultivation.

  • Expand the individual, foundation, private funder and corporate base by designing, implementing and managing a comprehensive solicitation, recognition and stewardship program.

  • Identify, and foster relationships with major donors and key stakeholders.

  • Increase revenue through foundation, corporate community investment, grants and sponsorships.

  • Provide a monthly newsletter on the activities of the organization.

  • Provide reports to donors.

YOU ARE

  • A senior professional, highly regarded for your leadership and success in fund development.

  • A critical, analytical thinker with exceptional business, financial management and strategic planning acumen.

  • A warm and engaging communicator, writer and presenter.

  • A creative self-starter with a proactive, collaborative work style.

  • An ambassador for the organization, able to increase its profile through spearheading successful fundraising initiatives and campaigns.

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively and with a small team.

  • Familiar with database management and have a good understanding of systems and processes.

MUST HAVES

  • A love for justice

  • An ability to travel into Canada’s far North.

  • An ability to work with indigenous organizations and faith-based institutions.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Director of Development.

  • Competency in managing multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Grant writing experience.
